I am and always will be, the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes. The dreamer of improbable dreams.

Fifty Shades of What?

Ladies, this blog is for you. We are getting personal. Discretion is advised. For my special guys, if you already know what this is going to be about then you have my permission to keep reading. So some books are out there called Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed. Some call it porn on pages, or a hot romance, or a love story. Either way, can girls my age or older handle what's behind the book covers? Are we mature to read it, and should our mothers let us make that decision? Although I do have a opinion.
People say that the trilogy is inappropriate, and too much. Well I have something to say about that. You are immature if you are just focusing on the sexual parts and not the rest of the story. Ya, so what two people have sex? People do it all the time and it's completely natural. I'm not justifying that it's okay to read it at my age, I'm just saying people are making a bigger of these books than it should be. Why are they making a big deal about some sex on pages when I know that a good population of the people at my school have porn sites book marked.
I am not a mother yet, and I certainly don't have the mindset of one. But for the conversations sake, I have a daughter my age who asks me about Fifty Shades. By now I'm 100% sure I would've had the talk with her, but should I let my young girl be exposed to something like that? I might not know if she already has or not. Should I just sharpie out the really bad parts, let her read the whole thing, or not at all? That's where your opinion comes in. Think about it.

Until Next Time,
Madison
