2013: A Year In Review

What a year it has been. There have been ups and downs but certainly no regrets for it is all in God's plans. I can't wait for 2014 because memories are just waiting to be lived. Happy New year everyone, but before we party let's review some highlights of the ever wonderful 2013.

To kick off 2013 I went to formal with my boyfriend who was a absolutely amazing date.

Another successful year in high school soccer came to a close.

I went to Sadies with a fantastic date

I spent Valentines day and most of February very happy and content

I turned 16!!!

I chopped my hair and donated it to Locks of Love

I cleaned up a dead bird that flew into the library

I went to UC Davis with some lovely people

I said goodbye  to the most wonderful foreign exchange student we have ever had at YHS

I soaked up my last day as a Sophmore and said goodbye to some friends

I skipped out on graduation and went to my cousins wedding

Fourth of July rolled around and summer was going pretty well and of course we used every bit of that lovely sunlight we had

We went to Pismo to tent camp with little Laura Pearson and my Chihuahua. This was taken shortly before my dad had a major heart attack and we almost lost him. We spent about five days in the ICU in SLO. After that we took my daddy home and took care of him.

My dad recovered fast and after a little bit of TLC we took our first outing since Pismo

I spent a wonderful day with my beautiful people

I joined the best travel team

I took one of my closest friends to a annual Galaxy game the week before school started

My little sister became a big girl and joined me in high school this year

I signed up for ROP Athletic Training knowing it was going to be my job one day not knowing that I would gain a little family in the process

After going to the same school for three years I found my life long friend

I loved being a junior and all of my classes and new friendships

Around September I broke up with my boyfriend and went through quiet a rough patch. Going from a healthy 115 lb. girl to about 97 lb un happy girl was not a fun one. This is about the time I got lazy and let life slip through my fingers and had to battle to stay afloat just about everyday.

My cousin became pregnant and had a beautiful and healthy baby girl

I joined the club and got my license

Winter finally came and we got a lot of snow and the hot coffee and tea began to brew in the Kollenborn house

I slowly but surely got ahold of myself and joined my high school soccer team but shortly after I fractured/sprained my ankle and got put out for a while.

Finally rehab ended for the ankle and I got back out there on the field, with caution of course. But things started to get easier and a smile was pretty frequent.

We spent Christmas in San Fran with the fam and had a wonderful time

I have finally accepted what is and decided to try to move on with life and become happy and not teary eyed all the time. Yoga, tea, and quiet nights have done their job immensely

All in all, I have absolutely no regrets from 2013. It was a year of learning and heartbreak and stress but it was also a year of learning what is important and how to have fun and live a happy life. I'm fairly happy where I am now and I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for me. Whatever it is good or bad take it with a smile and worship God for all he has given me.

Until Next Time,
Madison
XOXO
